Inspiration is all over the place – but, sometimes, nothing manages to turn on the spark! This is what happens to us sometimes – and we tend to call it ‘Writer’s Block’ or something like that.
Inspiration is all that we need to get us started. It makes us go from 0 to 100 in 2 seconds!
Inspiration is that all-consuming moment of fire which burns us and doesn’t take any prisoners. It is in that crazed-out moment, that we transcend from being ordinary to becoming extraordinary.
So, what inspires me? It is a bunch of many random, ordinary things, actually…it can be an overheard conversation at a restaurant, or it can be a dialogue from a movie or television show, or it can be people walking down the street, or it can be the landscape outside my window, or it can even be the people and the incidents from my personal life – basically, it can be anything that I have experienced around me in my life.
Often many times people have made other people their source of inspiration, thus making those people their – the word, I believe, is ‘Muse’. The word means: ‘The source of an artist’s inspiration.’
According to Greek Mythology, the Muses are the 9 daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne. Read all about the Muses at Wikipedia.
So what is it that inspires you? Write to me and let me know…
So, here’s the deal. I smoke. Or rather, I used to smoke. A lot. Like a pack and half a day. And now I don’t. I have moved to my mom’s house, and she won’t have me smoking. She has asthma and so I can’t smoke.
I still can write. But, I am not so sure. Am I still as good?
Often, we writers may have dependencies like cigarettes, or coffee, or tea, or even hot chocolate – that help us write. Or they make us feel as if they are helping us write.
Cigarettes used to do that for me.
And now I simply cannot smoke anymore.
Does that stop me from writing? Does that stop me from being creative?
Apparently Not.
So, the answer to the question posed above is: YOU WRITE!!
